Special Agent (SA) Kathia Colón has served with the FBI for 20 years, beginning as an Intelligence Analyst focused on International Terrorism in the Counterterrorism Division. She became a Special Agent and worked with the FBI San Francisco Division’s Joint Terrorism Task Force on sovereign citizen and right-wing extremist investigations for seven years.


She then joined the white-collar squad for three years, investigating financial crimes such as money laundering, investment fraud, and healthcare fraud. SA Colón also worked on human intelligence collection, recruiting and handling informants, and later focused on Cyber National Security investigations, earning her GIAC Certification.


From 2020 to 2023, she was part of the Safe Streets Task Force, collaborating with the San Francisco Police Department to combat gang activity and violent crime. In November 2023, SA Colón was appointed as a coordinator for the FBI San Francisco Private Sector Engagement Team, acting as a liaison between the FBI and private sector partners.
